As the lavender is starting to bloom around here, I absolutely love the smell and have found baking and other uses for lavender to make my recipes more unique.
Mashti Malone has created "Heaven on a Spoon" though with their ice cream creations, including Lavender ice cream, Rosewater Saffron with Pistachios, and Pomegranate Sorbet.
Award-winning exotic ice cream and sorbets, these flavors sound extraordinique.
Mashti Malone uses no preservatives, no Eggs, no refined sugar, no corn syrup. The ice cream contains no trans fat or artificial flavors or artificial color.

I stumbled across these very innovative baby diapers, which I thought were a great healthy and green solution. gDiapers are the breathable diaper you can flush, compost, or toss. There is no elemental chlorine, perfumes, inks, dyes or latext. There is no plastic layer making this diaper something that easily breaks down and doesn't add to our landfills. The gDiaper has a cute outer panty with a snap in liner and the flushables. The "g" pant and the liner are all easily washable, making everything easy to use and maintain.
gDiapers has a lot of interesting resources and information on their website about their product and their vision for a new way of product design. According to gDiapers, their vision is "Cradle to Cradle design, which is a new concept pioneered by the thought leaders in the field of ecological design, William McDonough and Michael Braungart of McDonough Braungart Design Chemistry (MBDC). Instead of designing products on the 'take-make-waste' model of the last century ('cradle to grave'), they have developed design methodology based on patterns found in nature, eliminating the concept of waste entirely and ensuring that any 'wastes' become nutrient for either nature's ecosystems or for humans' industrial systems. An end to toxic waste and the beginning of perpetually circulating resources, like nature, cradle to cradle."
I don't know about you, but I am really good at storing the digital pictures we take, but when it comes to actually printing them out to put in a frame, an album or a scrapbook, it just doesn't get done. I have a printer that even is dedicated for photo printing, but even still, if it isn't in the moment, they tend to be stored away for a "rainy day."
Polaroid has come out with a new mobile digital printer that is small (120mm (4.7") H X 72mm (2.8") W X 23.5mm (0.9") D) and lightweight (8 ounces without paper included in it) making it a mobile accessory that is easy to set up and print from instantly. The Instant Mobile Printer seems like the instant gratification much like the Polaroid One Step "Instamatic" camera I used to love as a kid, but with 21st Century technology called ZINK (zero ink). What makes this so extraordinique to me is their innovative new way of printing quality photos without a drop of ink.
According to Polaroid, "ZINK Paper is an advanced composite material with embedded yellow, magenta and cyan dye crystals, activated with 200 million heat pulses, in 30 seconds, in a single pass. With 100 billion crystals in a 2x3" print, the paper is 100% inkless. A ZINK-enabled printer uses heat to activate and colorize these crystals. Because there is no ink, every ZINK-enabled device has the unique benefits of being small, simple, elegant, and eco-friendly."
If you are looking an instant mobile printer for your digital and camera phone, check this out. The way Polaroid puts it, "enjoy (your pics) instantly, anywhere."
Great idea! Don't mind if I do! :)
Nicole Donnelly, a stay-at-home mom to her daughter Sara, began making BabyLegs to protect and keep her daughter's legs warm while allowing for some "nakedy butt time." Nicole wanted to find a way to keep her baby's knees soft and scarless.
Nicole started selling home-made BabyLegs out of Sara's diaper bag everywhere they went -- the coffee shop, swim class, and moms' groups. Nicole sold over 100 pairs in the first 2 weeks! BabyLegs was officially born in April 2005.
BabyLegs are made of Natural Organic Cotton with "one size fits most" sizing (33cm) from newborn to 10 years old. BabyLegs designs come in all fun and fashionable designs, including lines called Fresh, Funky, Modish, Retro and Organic. A couple mommies I know have babies ready for the Bones and Flames. BabyLegs come in seasonal collections throughout the year, which are adorable and fun too.
Mommies are fans of BabyLegs for their babies, but they've also been known to order them for themselves. Mommy's alike are also getting in on the warmth of BabyLegs now being worn as arm warmers and toeless knee high's.
If you get a pair for your next Baby Shower and love how they keep your baby's legs warm and soft, Tell Oprah. Oprah's looking for the BEST (and WORST GIFTS) you received when you were expecting a baby? If you love these BabyLegs, let Nicole and Oprah know.
Picture features Jack and Jill Gift Sets sold separately.
Thanks to Scott Beale over at Laughing Squid, I read about these really cool, "I-want-one-for-my-office" neighborhood posters created by designer Jenny Beorkrem, founder of Ork Posters.
By ditching the 'vintage, illustrated' look of traditional maps, Ork designed these posters with an original, simple, modern style, focused on form more than function.
The neighborhood maps are available as posters and screen prints, black and white and in select colors.
They are extraordinique!

I have to admit a pomegranate martini is by far one of my most favorite cocktails and when it's dressed up in a very cool glass -- all the better. Swank Martini Company appeals to those feeling a little "swanky" while drinking that favorite martini.

Chill with the Chillin' martini glasses or have fun with the "Name Droppers" which have 'Racy', 'Sexy', 'Flirty', 'Kinky', 'Swanky', and 'Spicy' etched right into the glass. I actually "had" (they are now in the recycle bin) two Starbucks cup sleeves on my desk with the idea to create exactly what Cup Couture has already done -- create a re-usable, fashionable sleeve for your favorite on-the-go paper coffee cups. Cup Couture created The Cup Coat, a high fashion thermal sleeve for most 12, 16 and 20 oz. paper cups.
Cupcoats are an eco-chic alternative to cardboard sleeves or 'double-cupping' typically used to insulate your hands from your hot beverage.
Cupcoats are thermally-insulating, durable and designed for re-use over and over again. Cupcoats are thin and designed for a proper fit over most conventional paper cups for coffee and tea. Most of all Cupcoats are stylish for men and women, including six different collections. For those who know and follow Extraordinique the Diva line for the "DDK" is my favorite. (Lianne and Marilyn -- You know what I am talking about!)
What I love most about Cup Couture's product line, is that they also offer an accessory to this fashion accessory -- Cup Coat Carrying Cases! This is such great thinking. Not only can you get more than one CupCoat, but now with the accessory case, you can carry all of them (holds three) in your purse, car, laptop bag, etc. That's great thinking. It's also a great gift idea, since the CupCoat Carry Case also has a flap for holding your pre-paid coffee card or a gift card.
Brilliant! Extraordinique!
